Since the beginning of our company in 1992, we have been constantly asked, “What does THP stand for?” It is simple to say that the letters “THP” are an acronym for “The Hendricks Properties”; denoting the partnership of brothers Tim and Todd Hendricks. Over the years our purpose has deepened, and our answer has changed. The acronym is the same, but new meaning stands behind it: we are building a better world. Our “world” is categorized in 4 ways: our company, community, nation and global community. We care deeply about the condition of each of these aspects of our world and we are committed to using our available resources to improve each one. Building a Better Company Our company is built on a tradition of quality, integrity, honesty and generosity. THP’s founders were raised in the building industry, as their father was a custom builder. Through their work with him, they learned that quality is paramount, both in the building of homes and building of reputation with customers and the community. Tim & Todd have carried that same belief to THP, determined to build a legacy that would honor their traditional values. THP believes that every home that is built under its name should be built right the first time. The construction standards held by the company far surpass those which are typical of the industry. We are committed to our product and our signature on our homes is quality. “They don’t build them like they used to,” is the old saying. We want our customers to add “except for THP.” Each step in the home buying process is intended to satisfy the customer, from initial contact with THP to years after moving into the completed home. We believe our customers are placing their belief in THP when they sign an agreement with us. We take that very seriously --so seriously that we will buy a house back if we fail to satisfy a customer. Our company is rich with tradition, but it is also enriched by the people who carry the tradition forward. Employees contribute to THP’s mission to provide excellent service to customers. They take great pride in building a better world for every homeowner that places their trust in THP. Building a Better Community THP has grown rapidly over the years and has a high profile in the local community. We hear comments on a regular basis that “everywhere you look you see burgundy and gold,”. THP’s presence is infiltrating: our developments spring up rapidly, our vehicles are on the road constantly, and signs and flags are prominently displayed to direct future homeowners our way. In addition to having a local presence, we strive to influence our community by supporting local charities that we feel passionately about. Our desire is to help people, so we use our resources to sponsor meaningful projects and events, in hopes of offering support and encouragement to our community. We have supported YMCA building projects to enrich families’ lives, as well as community events that have impacted and changed lives, such as Passion Fest. Our company is made up of individuals that are aware of the needs of the people in the community. We take that responsibility seriously and we strive to be diligent in making a difference in any way that we can. Building a Better Nation Our desire to help people stretches beyond being involved in our local community. We feel great responsibility to be involved however we can, in the support of our nation. When disaster struck in the southern states after hurricane Katrina, our employees were eager to lend their time and talents to those who suffered loss through the tragedy. We coordinated and dispatched several teams to go and help however it was needed. We won’t wait for disaster to strike before helping those in need. Each year we collect truckloads of food for people who are in constant need. We are committed to being aware of the needs in our nation and participating, where we can, to meet them. Building a Better World As a company of individuals that are passionate about helping people, we would be careless not to look beyond our nation’s borders. We are committed to global awareness and seek to share our resources in areas of the world, remote or otherwise, that are in a state of poverty or turmoil. We are determined to be a source of hope in these places, not out of obligation, but out of desire. We have ongoing involvement in providing opportunity for orphans in poor living conditions in Cairo, Egypt. We have been able to build school for the children to attend—a place where they can feel unburdened and safe, and enjoy learning. Our employees are proud to be involved in positively changing the world. Whether we are involved in our backyard or the dumps in Cairo, one thing is certain… we are having an impact and working at building a better world.
